Currently, this part of the Healthy Helpings campaign is still in action. In September of 2024, I started the food drive to fill in a gap that I noticed in my community.
The power of giving goes a long way in my small, rural community. As we collaborate to work on this food drive, the impact will be felt by 60-75% of the Grayson County community (around 6,000 to 7,000 people)!
What can I donate?
The foods that the Healthy Helpings Food Drive is looking out for are
Low sugar/sugar-free foods
Low sodium foods
Non-perishable items
Canned food items
Fruits
Vegetables
Grains
(Down below is an extended list of good items to donate)
This food drive will be collected at the end of the school year (late May). I'm so excited to see the progress and the true effects that the Healthy Helpings Community will be making on Grayson County!
